On this panel two writers who have been life-long horror fans discuss some of the most prominent female-oriented horror films released in recent years, as well as their own relationship to the genre. A subject which has been widely covered by the international horror community is that of the relationship between female fans and creators of the genre in a male-dominated industry. This panel invites horror fans to share in an enthusiasm for some of the most innovative female-oriented horror films, with a special focus on contemporary films produced by female creatives or those featuring female-oriented storylines. Horror works discussed shall include Ginger Snaps (John Fawcett, 2000), American Mary (Jen and Sylvia Soska, 2011), Excision (Ricky Bates Jr., 2011), the TV series American Horror Story: Coven (2013) and many more.
